My name is Mariah. I'm a neurodivergent, chronically ill, bisexual, full-time mom and photographer living in Sacramento with my 8-year-old son. I was first introduced to photography by my Nana when I was very little. I grew up in front of her lens. Modeling for her was one of my favorite things to do growing up. Then fast forward to 2015 when I was 22, married, and trying to figure out what career I wanted. I thought I wanted to be a makeup artist and was taking online classes for it. I bought a Nikon D50 to take better photos of my makeup for school than my phone could. I started playing with my new (to me) camera and I started carrying it everywhere, having so much fun with it. I felt like I had finally found something that I would love for the rest of my life. I quit makeup school and have never put down my camera since! Then in February 2023 I started classes for photography at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My photography grew exponentially there.
